Michel Kakos started his career in 1993 as an automation engineer for AlterSys (now part of Rockwell Automation). After spending 10 years climbing the corporate ladder and holding various strategic positions there, he left and founded Centris Technologies in 2003 using his experience in the management and development of highly technical, automation-related applications.
From 2006 to 2010, his company grew rapidly and was heavily involved in the development of the new Montreal subway Integrated Control Center, supplying over 70,000 hours of development assistance in that project alone.
In 2012, Centris Technologies, won an Operational Excellence award from the Manufacturing Leadership Group for the Dunn Edwards automated paint production plant in Phoenix, Arizona, along with finishing in 66th place on Profit magazine’s Canadian top 200 fastest growing companies.
In 2013 (and 2016), Centris was selected as a finalist for the CCIRS Excellence Awards in Innovation and Technology, recognizing the company’s above-norm innovation in deploying industrial automation systems. Also in 2016, the company won a Kinetic process innovation award for the Beauti-tone Industry 4.0 deployment in the Burford, Ontario paint plant.
Centris continues its expansion and sustained growth through positioning itself as a major player in the Industry 4.0 software arena, from embedded controls all the way up to the integration of SCADA solutions with ERP systems such as SAP/MII.
