Dale Fleck

Dale Fleck is the General Manager of Mazak MegaStir and one of the leading experts in friction stir welding.  With over 30 years of industrial experience and 15 years of experience specific to FSW, he started his friction stir welding journey with Lockheed Martin engineering the adoption of FSW on several rocket systems.  Once taking the lead of MegaStir, he and his team embarked on the advancement and viability of FSW as a joining solution in all refractory metals.  Dale has several patents in the space of solid-state joining.  Furthermore, Mazak’s patent portfolio includes several new pin tool materials which are revolutionizing the commercialization of FSW as the preferred joining solution for full-rate production applications.
