Ontario government bolsters area auto, manufacturing companies

“Five area auto-related and manufacturing companies will receive an overall total investment of more than $2 million from the Ontario government, the provincial Tories announced during a visit to the Windsor area on Tuesday.

Vic Fedeli, minister of economic development, job creation and trade, revealed the new funding during a stop at the Precision Stamping Group facility in Lakeshore.

“Today’s announcement is another example of our government’s continued commitment to supporting key Ontario sectors like automotive and manufacturing in regional and rural communities,” he said of financial support from the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund.

“Our government is supporting an environment where businesses can expand and create good jobs.”

Overall, the provincial government’s investment will create 194 new jobs and help retain another 199 jobs in the automotive and manufacturing sectors, according to Fedeli.”
