Ray Buxton started his apprenticeship in aerospace prototyping and research and development 44 years ago in the UK. Graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering, he has been managing manufacturing companies in Canada since 1984. He currently leads the Canadian operations of Mazak Corporation, a multinational manufacturer of leading edge computerized machinery.
Few people share such a great passion for our industry. Especially as it relates to the importance of it to the Canadian economy and the need to attract young talent to explore the exciting world of manufacturing.
Ray is married with four children. He serves on the board of directors of the CTMA and also the CMTDA (Canadian Machine Tool Dealers Association).
Ray is an avid woodworker and also has a passion for dance and music in all forms and genres.
