SME CMTS Student Summit

Inspiring High School Students toward Manufacturing Careers – Select high school students in programs that have a focus in science, technology, engineering and mathematics are invited by the members of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) – to experience a day of manufacturing at the SME CMTS Student Summit on:

Thursday, October 20, from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Each school can invite up to 30 pre-engineering students to attend the SME CMTS Student Summit. SME members will become mentors while guiding the students on a floor tour. During the tour, they will explore the exhibits, view the technologies, talk with industry experts, see the latest manufacturing innovations, participate in hands-on activities, and meet the people who will inform their career choices.

Space is limited- FIRST come, FIRST served (First 300 students)

The CMTS Student Summit has three requirements for registration:

  1. Pre-registration is required (space is limited).
  2. Maximum number of students from each school is 30
  3. Educator (adult) to student ratio for each school is 1:10. That is, 1 adult for every 10 students
  4. Educators to review the program rules and expectations prior to attending Link to pdf of rules

We are delighted to welcome university, college and high school students who will be participating in CMTS student program on Thursday, October 20, 2011. These students are our future workforce!

The tentative schedule is as follows:

Thursday, October 20, 2011

9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Students arrive, register, and assemble for the group orientation.
10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
