The Canadian Machine Tool Distributors Association (CMTDA) was founded in 1942 as a trade association dedicated to the marketing of machine tools and services in Canada through distributorship companies. Among its goals, the CMTDA aims to provide means whereby problems affecting the industry can be readily discussed and to cooperate to further the interests of the industry by all desirable means. As well, the CMTDA aims to stimulate growth in the use of machine tools and secure wider markets for these tools.
The Canadian Tooling & Machining Association (CTMA) was established in 1963 by combining various trade associations to produce one strong organization to represent the “Tooling Industry.” The term “Tooling Industry” includes designing, manufacturing, repairing or assembling for the purpose of selling tools, dies, moulds, jigs, fixtures, gauges, machinery, machining systems, robotics, automation equipment, models, patterns, general jobbing machine shop products and cutting tools. Restricting membership to manufacturers and industry suppliers as associate members has assured that the Association will always be devoted to Canadian manufacturing in the tooling and machining sectors.
Canada’s largest trade and industry association, Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) promotes the continuous improvement of Canadian manufacturing and exporting through engagement of government at all levels. Its mandate is to promote the competitiveness of Canadian manufacturers and enable the success of Canadian goods and services exporters in markets around the world.
Representing Canada’s largest business network, CME’s membership is drawn from all sectors of Canada’s manufacturing and exporting community and from every province across the country. The association represents Canada’s leading global enterprises and more than 85% of CME’s members are small and medium-sized enterprises. Together, CME’s membership accounts for an estimated 75% of total manufacturing production and 90% of Canada’s exports.
Business Information Group (BIG) is Canada’s largest publisher of specialized business magazines, directories and databases. Their subscribers are highly educated, have above-average incomes, and specify and buy millions of dollars worth of business products and services every year.
The Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA) is the voice of Canada’s wind energy industry, actively promoting the responsible and sustainable growth of wind energy on behalf of its more than 450 members. A national non-profit association, CanWEA serves as Canada’s leading source of credible information about wind energy and its social, economic and environmental benefits.

EEPC India (set up under the aegis of Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India) is the largest Trade Promotion body catering to the trade and business development needs of the Indian engineering sector. EEPC India has a membership base of over 14,000. Engineering sector forms the crucial backbone of Indian economy and is the largest segment of the Indian industrial sector. Engineering sector enjoys 30.5 % weight in the Index of Industrial Production (IIP); 29.9 % share of total investment; and 62.8 % share in foreign collaborations. Engineering accounts for 25% of India’s total exports and is its largest foreign exchange earner. EEPC India plays an instrumental role in spearheading the growth in the Indian engineering sector. In Yr. 2010-11, India’s engineering exports was to the tune of USD 60 billion and is targeted to reach USD 125 billion by the year 2014. EEPC India has coined a futuristic theme “Engineering the Future” with a vision to facilitate Indian trade and investment abroad in the engineering sector and vice-versa. More recently EEPC India in collaboration with Ministry of Commerce & Industry has undertaken a number of initiatives to promote “Brand India” and showcase India as the most Affordable & Adaptable destination for sourcing of import requirements through a series of “India Shows” in focus countries.
